EUROTRACS NV PRIVACY POLICY – EconnectAPP

This Eurotracs NV privacy statement describes how and why we may collect, store, use and/or share your data when you download and use our mobile application ‘eConnect app’. Reading this privacy notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our application. 1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

1.1 Personal information you provide to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you participate in activities of our application.

To support the basic functionality of our application, we require permission to collect the following information:

  • Geolocation data : Our application requires permission to collect and track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application, to provide certain location-based services. If you wish to change our access or consent, you can do so in your device’s settings.
  • Mobile device access : We may request access or consent to certain features of your mobile device, including your mobile device’s camera and storage. If you want to change our access or consent, you can do so in your device’s settings.
  • Mobile device data : We automatically collect device information (such as the model and manufacturer of your mobile device), operating system, version information and system configuration information, device and application identification numbers, browser type and version, hardware model Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, and IP address. If you use our application, we may also collect information about the phone network associated with your mobile device, your mobile device’s operating system or platform, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device’s unique device ID and information about the features of our application that you have accessed.
  • Notifications : Our application requires permission to send notifications related to certain features of the application. If you do not want to receive these types of notifications, you can disable them in your device’s settings.

Collecting this information is essential to ensure proper functioning of our application. In addition to the functional purposes of the application, this information can be used for troubleshooting purposes. However, this data is never used for analytical nor marketing purposes.

1.2 Automatically collected information

We automatically collect certain information when you use or navigate the application. This information does not reveal your specific identity (such as your name or contact details), but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our application and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our application.

The information we collect includes:

  • Log and usage data : We collect related diagnostic, usage and performance data when you access or use our application and record it in log files. This log data may include your IP address, device information, browser type and settings and information about your activity in the application, device event information.
  • Device data : We collect device data such as information about your phone, tablet or other device you use to access the application. Depending on the device used, this data may include information such as your IP address, device and application identification numbers, location, browser type, hardware model, internet service provider and/or mobile operator, operating system and system configuration information.
  • Location data : We collect location data such as information about the location of your device, which can be either accurate or inaccurate. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the application. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect data that tells us your current location (based on your IP address). You can choose not to allow us to collect this information by refusing access to the information or by turning off the location setting on your device.

However, if you choose not to share this data, you may not be able to use certain aspects of the application.

2. ON WHAT LEGAL GROUNDS DO WE RELY TO PROCESS YOUR DATA?

We may process your data if you have given us permission to use your personal data for a specific purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

We may process your data when we believe it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, such as cooperating with a law enforcement or regulatory agency, exercising or defending our legal rights, or disclosing your data as evidence in legal proceedings involving us.

3. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA?

We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy statement, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. No purpose in this statement requires us to retain your personal data for longer than 7 days.

When we no longer have a legitimate business reason to process your personal data, we will delete or anonymize such data, or, if this is not possible we will store your personal data securely and shield it from further processing until deletion is possible.

4. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?

We have implemented technical and organizational security measures to protect the security of all personal information we process. However, despite our precautions and efforts to keep your information secure, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed as completely secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to circumvent our security and improperly collect, access, steal or modify your information. While we do our best to protect your personal information, the transfer of personal information to and from our application is at your own risk. You should only use the application in a secure environment.

5. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

We do not knowingly solicit data from or sell to children under 18 years of age. By using the application, you certify that you are at least 18 years old or that you are the parent or guardian of such minor and consent to such minor’s use of the application. If we discover that personal data of users under the age of 18 has been collected, we will take measures to delete such data from our records immediately. 6. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In some regions (such as the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access to and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; (iv) where applicable, to data portability; and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. We will consider and follow up any request in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

If you are located in the EEA or the UK and believe that we are processing your personal data unlawfully, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your Member State or the UK’s data protection authority.

If we rely on your consent to process your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the contact details below.

However, please note that this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before it was revoked.
